Factory PR seeks a Director to join its Tech + Innovation Division. The candidate should be an avid consumer of tech and business media, and have a deep affinity and understanding of DTC brands, emerging markets and the tech landscapes. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Founders and have a deep understanding of thought leadership tactics, venture-backed brands, and a spectacular ability to create momentum for a brand well beyond launch. The position calls for an expert press strategist and relationship builder and reports to the VP of Tech and Innovation in NYC. The candidate will supervise, develop, and mentor a dynamic team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, inspire and hone a team of excellent publicists, and act as a strong mentor and guide
  • Serve as the senior oversight and/or contact for tech & innovation clients
  • Lead the development and execution of innovative communications strategies for national and international brands, melding media and influencer tactics
  • Maintain and develop senior relationships with technology and business editors
  • Facilitate press tours and interviews with Founders and clients
  • Produce high impact press materials
  • Secure high-level features and placements and manage the team to deliver on KPIs
  • Oversee and contribute to the timely distribution of briefing documents, and facilitate client media trainings where required
  • Build out thought leadership content and programs for executives, developing pertinent talk tracks and topics
  • Execute press activations and events for clients with the support of Factory’s in-house production team

REQUIREMENTS

  • 6+ years of experience working with technology companies ranging from startups to mid-level businesses
  • Expert knowledge of the media landscape across tech and business
  • Proven track record of securing top-tier coverage in print and online media, podcasts and broadcast
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Superior ability to work swiftly and independently, and alongside a dynamic team
  • Strong and effective writing, communication and presentation skills
  • Superior ability to articulate ideas to clients, agency principals and colleagues
